Food writer, food fair curator, speaker, selfie sensei, traveler, tour guide, music aficionado, host, pop culture observer, dad, son, father, Catholic kid, and founder of Pinoy Eats World & Just Jonesing.
JJ was born and raised in Manila, spent a few years as a kid in the Bay Area Peninsula, San Jose, California specifically, and attended culinary school in New York.
His dad comes from the Sugarlands of Bacolod, mother from up north in Tarlac, both regions in the Philippines. With the diversity of this geography, it’s no wonder he's entrenched with food and the alchemy of the kitchen – the combination of aromas, the energy, and the chemical reactions that make taste explosions.
Even though at the time of this posting, we're in the midst of a pandemic which keeps his sought after food events on hold, through IG, he has not stopped engaging us with food and championing those in the business of the culinary arts, and he's not just about the fancy stuff, but about food made with care, and this is evident by what he posts. Check him out and follow him if so inclined @nekkidchef and be turned on to some soul stirring options.
